Update September 20

Hello dear friends!

Meanwhile we arrived safely in Kenya and have settled in well again. Right after our arrival we got an impression of the Corona measures. Here there is a curfew from 21:00 o'clock on, only cab drivers have a special permit. When we drove the twenty kilometers home at 21:30 we experienced Nairobi for the first time deserted. Normally at this time of day all streets are full of cars and pedestrians on the sides of the road. But now everything was like extinct: There were maybe two cars coming towards us and we didn't see any pedestrians at all - it was kind of spooky.

The opinions about the measures in Kenya differ. On the one hand, the official figures, which were always quite low anyway, have now dropped even further with 200 new infections per day. On the other hand, many people are suffering. Now that we are here, we are noticing this even more clearly. Many people have lost their jobs because of Corona. But there are also many who still have their jobs but only earn half of what they earned. The companies make less turnover and pass this on to the employees. So it is all the more wonderful that thanks to your donations those affected can be helped! Soon we will take part in a relief action ourselves and get an even better picture of the situation.

Currently we are in the process of founding our own organization in Kenya. In this context we are especially grateful to the director of Foursquare Kenya, who supports us in this endeavor to the best of his ability.

Center of hope:

In three weeks we will receive a first plan from the architects, we are totally looking forward to this!  Last week we were on site with people from the organization we are buying the land from. We are really excited and hope to start building next year.

As described in the last letter, it is our heart's desire to complete the financing of the property - preferably by the end of this month. We are totally happy about what has happened in the last weeks. We are missing only a little more than 5000,00 € .

The current state of our finances. There is not much missing to our property :)

Many thanks to all who have contributed to this. You are really great! If you would like to support us in buying the land, you can still do so either through our campaign on betterplace.org, or transfer the money directly to our account. You will receive a donation receipt in both cases. Thank you very much for your support!

Finally, many thanks to all who support us through prayer, finance or practical help. Only through you is our work here in Kenya possible!

Best regards
