Update May 21
Hello dear friends!
We look back gratefully on the past month. Marco's work visa was entered in the passport, the founding of our Kenyan organization is making progress, the architectural planning of the “Center of Hope” is making good progress and the financing is also developing positively. In the meantime, 80 m² of the foundation have been financed. Thanks for your support! If you want to support us here, please do so directly via our account or via the campaign at betterplace.org at www.betterplace.org/en/projects/72407
Hope Project:
We have now been able to complete this. The project itself was a complete success: a total of 549 children and their families received an aid package thanks to your donations. The only problem was the unreliability of the local shoe manufacturer, which led to considerable delays. The gratitude of the people was still big, because the hardship caused by the pandemic is still great. There was just another partial lockdown in Nairobi. From an epidemiological point of view, this is certainly a good thing, but poor families in particular suffer economically as a result. For example, I was very moved by meeting a young woman whose husband had just lost his job. With tears in her eyes she said: “Thank you! You don't even know what a blessing you are! ”I would like to pass this gratitude on to you. Thank you for your donation! The money comes in here and it really makes a difference.
Outlook:
From the beginning of June we will be in Germany for two months and will also visit different communities to present our project and to inform about our work. The following dates are available for June and the beginning of July: June 13th: Congregation Unterwegs Nastatten, June 20th: Christ Congregation Gau Algesheim, July 4th: Christ for all Bielefeld. If we are anywhere near you, please come over. We look forward to many great encounters!
Thanks:
Finally, many thanks again to all supporters. No matter how you support us, our work here in Kenya is only possible thanks to you. To put it in the words of the young woman from the Hope Project: “You don't know what a blessing you are!” - Thank you!
Yours truly
Marco and Joy
