Update August 21
Hello dear friends!
We can start this newsletter with very great news: Joy is pregnant. We are of course very happy about that, especially because from a medical point of view it can be described as a miracle. In order to guarantee the best possible medical care for mother and child, but also because a long flight like the one to Nairobi would involve risks, we decided that Joy will stay in Germany until the birth.
Marco is also currently still in Germany. A lot of organizational things had to be clarified in the last few weeks. We are currently looking for an apartment where we can stay until our child is born. Once all of that has been clarified, Marco will fly to Kenya for several weeks - presumably at the beginning of October - to be on site and to drive forward the work and our heart project.
But thanks to the digital age and many local partners in Nairobi, we can also regulate and do a lot from Germany and our center of hope is making further progress. There are now the first real construction plans that can be submitted. The establishment of our Kenyan organization, which will be indispensable for further development, is now on the home stretch.
Thanks:
Thank you for the many donations received over the past month. As announced, we will donate ten percent of this to the Feed the Hungry Foundation to help the victims of the flood disaster. By August 30th, 4784 euros had already been received, which of course makes us very happy.
Correspondingly, however, the finances for the Center of Hope have also developed positively. Thank you very much for that! Stones can still be donated for the walls of the orphanage. A stone costs only 25 Euros.
Finally, many thanks again to all supporters. Whether through prayer, finances or even practical, our work in Kenya is only possible thanks to you!
If you too would like to support us or have questions about our work, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
Yours truly
Marco and Joy
