Update February 23

Hello dear friends!

We hare back in Kenya for over a month now, but it has not rained since then. In the whole country one waits longingly for rain, in order to be able to begin with the planting of vegetables. The fact that the rains have not come so far has once again led to higher prices - this time for vegetables. The whole thing is happening at an  inappropriate time, because the prices for basic foodstuffs are very high anyway. All the more we are happy that we can give a little hope to the poorer people by distributing the food packages donated by you. At least we could start with that in February. More distribution campaigns will follow in March.

The first day with our new students.

We also got to know our ten new students last month and took the career aptitude test with them. The feedback from all participants was very positive. For example, one young man told us following the test:
"I was still wavering between two different professions when choosing a career. The test helped me a lot, because now I know exactly what I want to study."
There are also new developments at our Center of Hope: In February, we visited the site several times with the surveyor because corrections still had to be made to the measurements. In the meantime, however, everything has been corrected. Unfortunately, the new survey also means that we need a new property title deed. We hope that we will now receive this in a timely manner.

Outlook:
In order to be able to start building the Center of Hope, we are still missing permits in addition to the title deed. However, the construction team is working on it and we are in good spirits to receive them soon. Also financially we have not quite reached our goal yet. However, we are still on the right track and are convinced that we will be able to achieve this with your help.
Another focus in March will be the distribution of the remaining food packages. We are really looking forward to this. We are already in talks with social workers and pastors who will help us by identifying needy families who will then receive the packages.

Thank you:
Finally, a big "thank you" to all of you who support us through prayer, through finances, or in a very practical way. It is only through you that our work here in Kenya is possible. Thank you very much for that!
So, if you have any questions or suggestions or if you want to support our work, please feel free to contact us.

Yours truly

Marco and Joy
