Newsletter May 24
Hello dear friends!
At the beginning of this week, the time had come: we were able to break ground for our Center of Hope. We are absolutely thrilled and grateful. The whole thing was celebrated with friends and the construction team with a small church service followed by snacks and drinks.
Crazy campaign - who's in?
To be on the safe side financially, we started a campaign for 400 x 50 Euros in mid-May. In the meantime, we only need 325 x 50 Euros. To support this campaign, Marco has come up with something special: he wants to walk as many kilometers as possible on a certain day in June - most likely June 8th. He is now looking for people who will give him a certain amount for every kilometer he walks on this day - for example 1 Euro, but of course he would be happy to give more. As “proof” that he has actually walked the specified number of kilometers, he will use a tracker. He will also make a short video every two kilometers, which can then be seen on Tumaini Ministries' social media channels. If you think this campaign is worth supporting and would like to donate an amount per kilometer, please reply to this e-mail so that we can assess whether this campaign is worthwhile. We would be delighted if a good amount could be raised in this way for the benefit of the Center of Hope.
Outlook:
We are very much looking forward to seeing the progress of the construction work in the coming weeks. However, things are still difficult with Marco's work permit, as there have now been changes to the law that make the situation here more difficult. We are therefore currently looking into other options. You are welcome to pray for this.
Thank you:
Finally, we would like to look back on the day of the ground-breaking ceremony. It was very moving for us. What moved us most, however, was not the start of the construction work, but to think about how many people made this moment possible through their support in various ways - including many of you! We thank you very much for that!
Yours truly
Marco and Joy
