Update April 24

Hello dear friends!

We have to start this newsletter with some sad news: The manager of our construction project passed away unexpectedly in the middle of the month. This came as a shock to us, as he was not only a great professional, but also a great person. You are welcome to pray for the family of the deceased.
As we want to start construction as soon as possible, we had to look for a new project manager. We are very grateful that we have found a successor who was also heavily involved in the previous planning and who will support us to the best of his ability in the implementation of our heart project.

Construction work is due to start in May.

But there is also good news: Last week we received the first of two necessary building permits. We should also receive the remaining permit in the next few days. We will then be able to award the building contract accordingly and construction work can begin in May. We will of course keep you up to date here.
There is also news regarding Marco's work permit: the application for this has now been officially received. As a result, his temporary visa has been extended for another two months. You are welcome to pray that we will soon have clarity here too.

Outlook:
In the coming weeks, the focus will continue to be on obtaining the work permit and preparing the construction so that work can begin in May.
In recent weeks, heavy rainfall has led to flooding in various parts of Kenya. Thankfully, we personally have not been affected, but unfortunately other parts of Nairobi have. We are therefore currently looking into whether we can help affected families with food parcels.

Thank you:
Finally, many thanks to all those who support us through prayer, financially or practically. It is only through you that our work here in Kenya is possible.
If you would also like to support our work or have any questions or suggestions, please get in touch.

Yours truly

Marco and Joy
