Hello dear friends! 

Over the last few weeks, we have had further discussions regarding the possible admission of orphans and would now like to bring you up to date: At the beginning of this year, there was a change in the law in Kenya: new licenses for orphanages will no longer be issued. This is mainly due to negative experiences in the past. Instead, the government is focusing more on supporting and strengthening families.
As this change is still very new, there was a lot of confusion at first - even among the relevant authorities. The information we received was therefore constantly changing. There is now more clarity:
Instead of orphanages, there are now various new approaches:
   - Foster families: our original concept was to work with family-like living groups for orphans. This could now be implemented in the form of taking in foster children.
   - Family-strengthening services: Here, too, we would like to get involved and develop programs to provide targeted support for families.
We do not yet know the specific requirements for these approaches in detail. As soon as we have clarity on this, we will submit the necessary applications.  

After numerous discussions with the authorities, there is thankfully more and more clarity. 

However, we have already submitted one important application: the application for the construction of an educational facility on our property.
We are in regular contact with the authorities in order to clarify all outstanding issues as quickly as possible and to initiate the next steps.
