Update July 22
Hello dear friends!
In July, our main focus was on teaching our students. They are a really great group of young men and women who are very collaborative and fun to teach. Among other things, we were able to help them develop a future perspective based on their past, core values and gifts, as well as next steps they can take to achieve them. We were particularly moved by the story of one participant who would like to help street children. In a conversation, it turned out that he himself had lived on the streets for a long time and therefore has a heart for these people. Through our lessons, he was encouraged in exactly this. It is a great privilege for us to be able to accompany such people and to support them in finding and grasping a perspective.
Another good news is that the account of our Kenyan organization has finally been opened. This should have happened much earlier, but for some reason it kept getting delayed. This Thursday we finally got the good news that it has been opened. This is very important especially for the distribution of the food packages, as this is done by our Kenyan organization. We are really looking forward to this.
Outlook:
The distribution will take place at the earliest in the second half of August. On August 9th there are still elections in Kenya. Since there have been riots before, during and after the elections in Kenya, in which people have already died, people stay at home around the time of the elections, if at all possible. All schools are also closed. We live in a guarded area and therefore very safe. However, you can please pray for peace in the coming weeks.
Thank you:
As always, a heartfelt thank you to all of you who support us through finances, prayer, or in practical ways! It is only through you that our work here in Kenya is possible.
If you would also like to support us or if you have any questions or suggestions about our work, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly
Marco and Joy
