Update May 23
Hello dear friends!
We can start this newsletter with good news: since this week we finally have our new land title deed. This is of course very pleasing in itself, but for a very specific reason it is also something like a small milestone: With this deed we can now in a next step finally also apply for the building permit. And this would then be - at least legally - the last step before we can start building.
We are also getting closer to revising the statutes of our Kenyan organization and there have been several steps in the right direction in the last month. Here, however, we cannot yet announce the big breakthrough, but we are still in the process.
Contrary to what was announced in the last newsletter, we were not yet able to complete the distribution of food in May. This is mainly due to the fact that we always work together with contact persons like social workers to make sure that the food really reaches the families in need. This took a little longer this time - also because we have never been able to distribute so many food packages at once. In this context, however, it seemed to us to make little sense to simply distribute the packages to "anyone". Rather, it was and is important to us that the aid really reaches families where it will make a difference. We think that this is also in the interest of all those who made these packages possible.
Outlook:
In June, however, we will now complete the distribution of the food packages. Another date for this is already this Saturday. In addition, Marco will start learning Swahili in June. The language is the second official language in Kenya besides English.
Thank you:
Finally, as always, many thanks to all who support us through finances, prayer or even practically. It is only through you that our work here in Kenya is possible!
If you have any questions or suggestions or would like to support our work, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly
Marco and Joy
