Update January 24

Hello dear friends!

We wish you a happy and blessed 2024! We landed safely in Kenya in mid-January and everything went well with the baby on the flight, for which we are really grateful. In the meantime, we have settled in well in Kenya again, even if we still have to find our way in our new (working) life as a threesome.

We landed safely back in Kenya on January 13 and were met at the airport by some of Joy's family.

Last weekend, we distributed the first 40 food parcels to needy families in a poor neighborhood in Nairobi. It is always important for us to tell people that the money for this does not primarily come from us, but from many people - you - who want to help them in their need. People are always very touched by this. But the encounters and conversations also leave a lasting impression on us. Most of them live in small corrugated iron huts and try to earn the bare necessities as day laborers. As there is much more laborers than work in Kenya, especially in this area, the situation is difficult. In order to pay their children's school fees, most of which are due in January, many have to take out loans on poor terms. The aid packages donated by you are therefore a great help for the families, especially at this time.

Outlook:
We will be distributing more aid packages in the coming weeks. We also have a meeting with the construction team next week. Then we will also find out what the latest news is regarding the building permit. The plan is still to start construction in March. In a further step, tenders will be obtained for individual construction phases in February. These will then be awarded to the companies with the most convincing overall package. In order for us to be able to take these crucial next steps, it is all the more important for us that Marco gets his new work permit. We have already had talks about this, but we cannot yet report a major breakthrough. You are welcome to continue praying for this. Thank you very much!

Thank you:
Finally, as always, we would like to thank everyone who supports us through prayer, financially or practically. It is only through you that our work here in Kenya is possible. Even this year, in which we want to take such important further steps for us, we will only be able to do this with your support - thank you very much!
So if you have any questions or suggestions or would like to support our work, please get in touch with us.

Yours truly

Marco and Joy
